Unique experimental fish and aquatic ecology research environment

The station has unique facilities for aquatic ecological, environmental or management-related research in laboratory and in semi natural experimental arenas. Numerous rearing tanks also enable production scale fish farming experiments.

A variety of versatile field studies in nearby lakes and rivers are managed from the station.

The station was part of the Finnish Game and Fisheries Research Institute and from the beginning of the year 2015 the Natural Resources Institute Finland.
